Clip 1 AKC JWW 8/17/02 This was a fairly good run but Isabella took off too soon and had a rail down after the tire so no Q.
Clip 2 AKC JWW 8/18/02 We made lots of mistakes in this clip but it was still good enough for a Q AND first place!
Clip 3 NADAC Tunneler class 6/14/02. This was our first time in tunnelers. As you can see it is ALL tunnels! Isabella takes one look at all those tunnels, just there for the takin', wags her Poodle tail and takes off, darting in and out of tunnels, leaving me at the first tunnel to fend for myself. Eventually, she returns to try to get me to join in on her fun but, being the spoil sport I am, I take her out of the ring. |
Butt Biter! 6/16/02 When Millie gets stressed or confused ('cause I don't get directions to her soon enough), she either leaves or she jumps up and nips at me. As this run progresses, she gets more and more confused. Eventually, she can't stand it any longer and begins herding me to speed me up a bit (FAT CHANCE:)! When I tell her NO she gets down into her play bow and dares me to run for it! IT is pretty funny. All the people watching had a great laugh on us(including the judge!).

Clip 4 Tenino Jumpers 8-24-02 I really blew this one! We could have had our Novice Jumpers title but I didn't stop my momentum before a jump and Isabella read that to mean go around it. We lost seconds rejumping it and went over time. Then I crossed behind her too soon and she got confused as to just where we were going. She sure tried hard.
Miss Millie Angel 8-24-02 regular Run NADAC THE BEEZEN HUNDEN This is when Millie first discovers that there are BEEEEZZZ EVERWHERE! She leaves during the weaves to chase them. She does come back after much coaxing but her heart would rather be chasing bees! We used to say she was a Rough Coat Cur Terror but I think from now on she will be known as THE BEEZEN HUNDEN!
THE BEEZEN HUNDEN in action! 8-24-02 Millie decides herding and chasing bees is much more fun and important than following me around a boring jility course! I finally get tired of begging her to come "have fun" and call her to the exit, making sure she gets over one last jump so I can tell her how wonderful she is ('cause dem's da jility wools!!!). Hugs and kisses no matter what!
Millie was born wild sometime around May of 2000. She was trapped at 7 months and lived in the shelter for 3 months. She came to live with us in March of 2001 at about 10 months of age. For her entire story, click on Millie's Story at left. We are very proud of her!
First Jumper Q! CAT 9-8-02 Millie did a great job and got her very first jumper Q! Not bad for a little feral girl:)
NADAC Jumper Title Run 9/8/02 It sure felt good to finally get this title! Isabella did a great job!
NADAC Regular Q Run 9/8/02 This run wasn't perfect, she thought I said here when I said teeter but it was good enough for a Q!
Millie's Novice Jumper Title! 9-15-02 Millie got her title but I ran too slowly to suit her (as usual). Towards the end of the run, Butt Biter stricks again! For some reason, the judge didn't call us for it and Millie got the Q and her title! The judge made up for that missed call by later calling a missed contact that cleary wasn't missed (video proof!). Oh well, win some lose some:)
AKC JWW Novice Title Run 9/22/02 Isabella did a great job! I was in so much pain I could barely walk so she had to do it all on her own. The ground was VERY slippery and she nearly fell approaching the weaves but she hung in there and saved it! She was 10 seconds under SCT and placed first!
AKC Standard Title Run 9/21/02 We weren't as fast as we normally are because I had a pulled calf muscle but it was still 26 seconds under SCT and good enough for her Novice Standard Title AND first place! We had a couple of bobbles but she sure tried hard! Isn't she just the cutest?
Isabella Takes A Tumble:( Isabella got going a little too fast for the wet conditions and down she went. She recovered quickly and was fine and flew back on the DW in the next trial.
Millie's first NADAC Open Q! BAAD in Bend 10-13-02 Millie did a great job! She is getting more focused and stressing less. She will get faster as she gains more confidence in what we are doing.
Open Jumper Q BAAD in Bend, OR 10-13-02 This run was a BLAST! Isabella was flying and placed first!
Tunnelers BAAD in Bend, OR. 10-12-02 OK, so I SWORE I would NEVER EVER do a tunnel class again. Isabella was having so much fun watching tunnelers classes, I decided to give it another try. We had a great time and ran clean but no Q 'cause I turned too soon and pulled her out of the tunnel and we had a couple of are-you-sure-I-am-supposed-to do-all-these-tunnels spins so we went over time by a fraction of a second.

Open Jumper Sno-King Argus Ranch 11-10-02 This was not one of our best runs. We started out fast but then Isabella was slow in the weaves, hesitated at the tunnel and thought we were done and spun before the last jump. Usually 10 - 15 seconds under time in jumpers, we just made the time and had 5 faults for the spin or tunnel deal, not sure which. You can see my mistake of not pushing far enough to the tunnel. She usually sends better than she did. We also usually get better distances. Oh well, good enough for a Q and 2nd place. We were still the fastest of the Qs but the 5 faults put us second.
Open Standard Sno-King Argus Ranch 10-10-02 We were only 10 seconds under time and usually are 25 -35 seconds under.. I gave her a terrible line to the DW and she was slow on it, 5 off in the weaves (she stopped and looked at me because I stopped). Although not a very difficult one, we did get the tunnel A-frame discrimination pretty well. We Qd and placed third. Would have won but for the 5 off in the weaves as we were fastest of the Qs.
NADAC Open Regular Q 1-12-03 Isabella does a face plant! Isabella slipped in the dry grass and had to circle to get the weave entry.but still got the Q and a third place finish. The finish line was way past the last jump so I couldn't grab her like I usually do.
NADAC Open Jumper Title! !-12-03 This was a really fun run. Isabella went wide because I didn't stop my momentum and turn soon enough on the last pinwheel but she still managed a fourth place. I loved the distance we got!
NADAC Tunnelers run Q 1-12-03 Isabella loves this class so much. She refused to stay at the start so I really got left behind! I hadn't had a chance to walk the course at all and only got to watch 3 people run. We still got the Q and a great time was had by all!
NADAC Tunneler Run 1-12-03 This run makes me laugh every time I watch it! Isabella nearly jumped through my arms at the start as I was setting her up so expecting her to stay was a joke! Notice how she leaps into the air as she exits the tunnels as well as between some of the tunnels. I HATE tunnelers but Isabella has such a great time we run it anyway. No Q but a really fun run to watch! You can hear people laughing at her. Listen for her yip of sheer joy at the start!
AKC Excellent JWW Run Q & 3rd place 1-24-03 THis wasn't our fastest or prettiest or smoothest run but it was out forst Excellent jumper Q. We'll get better, I hope!
AKC Excellent Standard 2-8-03 No Q because Isabella couldn't collect herself and blew right by the weaves. She also back sasses me on the table. We are working on that and speeding up her weaves.
AKC Excellent A JWW Q & 1st place! Her weaves were VERY slow today but we are working on speeding them up.
AKC Excellent B JWW Q 3-3-03 Someday I might learn to get my signals to Isabella in time. For now, she will have to keep guessing where we are going next. Poor thing does the best she can for having an idiot for a handler! Oh well, it was still a Q.
AKC EX B JWW 3-16-03 No Q but a fun run. She took the wrong side of the first tunnel because I didn't call soon enough.
USDAA Novice Jumper. 3-23-03 1st place.
USDAA Mel's debut 3-23-03 . 2nd place Novice jumper. Great job Mel & Millie :)
